On 11th July 2025, the serene landscapes of Taman Botani Perdana were filled with the infectious energy of our students for the St. John’s International School Cross Country. It was more than just a race; it was a heartening display of community and character. From the moment the first group took off, the park was alive with the sound of cheering teammates and the determined footsteps of runners pushing through the humidity of Kuala Lumpur to reach their personal bests.
The true highlight of the morning was seeing the sheer joy on the faces of our youngest participants. Our preschoolers, decked out in their vibrant house colors, showed us all what it means to run with pure heart. Watching them proudly display their medals, some with wide grins and others with looks of intense focus, reminded everyone present that the goal isn’t just about coming in first; it’s about the courage to start and the persistence to finish.
This event wouldn’t have been the success it was without the “people power” behind the scenes. Our dedicated teachers and staff were on the ground ensuring every child was hydrated and encouraged, while parents provided the vital sideline support that kept spirits high. As we wrapped up the day under the shade of the great rain trees, the sense of camaraderie was unmistakable. Congratulations to every student who took part, you’ve made the entire SJIS family incredibly proud!
